As a staunch supporter of the Second Amendment, my dedication to preserving our right to bear arms is unwavering. In my view, the right to self-defense is a fundamental human right, enshrined in our Constitution, and it is non-negotiable. No matter how legislation is presented, even under the guise of safety measures or protecting children, I will oppose any new restrictions that seek to undermine this right. The current fascination with "assault weapons" bans, pushed primarily by the left, is a prime example of misguided efforts that do not address the root causes of violence but rather penalize law-abiding citizens. Similarly, laws that limit magazine capacities or mandate the tracking of firearms and ammunition are not only invasive but also ineffective at preventing crime.
Furthermore, I am committed to advocating for the repeal of outdated and overreaching laws such as the National Firearms Act (NFA), which places undue restrictions on law-abiding gun owners. These types of legislation do nothing to enhance public safety and instead create unnecessary barriers to the exercise of our Second Amendment rights. It’s essential that we focus on policies that genuinely protect our communities without infringing on our constitutional rights. If elected, I promise to stand firm against any attempts to erode our freedoms and will tirelessly work to ensure that our legislative environment respects and upholds the right to keep and bear arms as intended by our founding fathers.
