Educational choice is paramount, especially as we face increasingly concerning content in public school curriculums. In Wisconsin, this content often includes teaching LGBTQ ideologies, presentations of history that are distorted or one-sided, and rhetoric undermining the historical significance and virtues of our founding fathers.
Until we are able to overhaul and reform Wisconsin's educational system, parents need to be able to opt out of the public schools. Homeschooling, private education, and charter schools stand out as critical options, offering an environment where parents can ensure their children learn in a way that aligns with their ethical and moral standards. These alternatives should be equally funded by your tax dollars. Wisconsinites should be able to direct their tax dollars to an educational options as they see fit.
In advocating for a major overhaul of our educational system, I strongly support increasing local control over schools. Such a move would enable the educational content and standards to be set by those who best understand and represent the community’s values—local educators, parents, and administrators.
